The v10 upgrade contains no new features, but simply upgrades a number of Gaia’s dependencies. This is to ensure that all the software that goes into Gaia is as up to date as possible. Some of the upgrades:
Upgrade Cosmos SDK to v0.45.16-ics.
The liquidity module is the module that enables Gravity DEX, but it has not been used in a long time. Together with developers from Crescent, we made a plan to remove it, while restoring unwithdrawn balances to their owners. Much thanks to the Crescent Network’s developers for their prompt and well thought out plan and implementation. Proposal appears here.
We worked on CometMock, which will allow end to end tests to run much more quickly and predictably by simulating CometBFT deterministically and without network overhead. During May we worked out some of the last kinks to make it ready for the first step of integration into our testing tool. Check it out here.
We’ve been supporting the Stride team in moving towards their first testnets and launch as a consumer chain.
With the help of Notional and Thomas Bruyelle, we completed an upgrade of Interchain Security to version 47 of the Cosmos SDK. We also started on an upgrade of the Cosmos Hub software, Gaia.
We’ve been working on the v2 release of Interchain Security. This consolidates all the work that has been done since v1 was released, including soft opt out, sovereign to consumer migration, and various bugfixes.
During Q2 and Q3, the Gaia documentation will be going through a number of updates. To that end, we’ve reached out to a number of validators to understand their documentation needs and to identify any areas that are not sufficiently covered in the current documentation.
The Hub team would like to thank the following validators who participated in the research sessions and provided valuable feedback: CryptoCrew, Coinbase, Notional and A41.
If you have feedback about the documentation that you would like to share, please fill in the following survey. The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
